Ref. 25675-29SWINDON CARES: RADIO presenters Howard Taylor and Heidi Humphrey didn't have to worry about what to wear to work yesterday.
That's because they broadcast the GWR FM's breakfast show while in the nude. They were honouring a promise to bare all if they sold out of fundraising teddy bears at the Swindon Cares launch event at the weekend.
They helped kick off Swindon Cares Week, an initiative supported by Nationwide, Zurich, the Evening Advertiser, GWR Community Trust, the Rotary Club of Swindon, Swindon Council, the Swindon Chamber of Commerce and BBC Radio Swindon.
The partnership aims to raise £10,000 for the NSPCC, Age Concern and the Swindon Cancer Appeal.
Heidi said she strategically placed the toys, known as Charley Bears, so all was not revealed.
"I felt really weird about it at first but it was cool in the end," she said.
"I just had to manoeuvre myself so Howard didn't see any of my bits. Every now and again I would see a flash of his bum.
"We had lots of people ringing in saying they wanted proof we were naked. So this photo should show them."
Swindon Cares week continues until July 19. Call Pam Webb on (01793) 502450 or email on pam.webb@uk.zurich.com to get involved.
