Ref. 25703-84A STRANGE temple-like structure has been inflated in Faringdon Road Park in time for today's launch of the Swindon Summer Festival.
Called the Luminarium, the construction is around 40 metres long and 10 metres tall.
The structure is designed for visitors to walk through a series of tunnels, mazes and domes each radiating a different colour generated by nothing more than daylight.
Toby Rathbone, performing arts officer for Swindon Council, said: "I would encourage people to experience the Luminarium. It is really quite extraordinary.
"It is an interactive sculpture that will appeal to both children and adults."
The Luminarium is a small part of the festival in which around 30 professional acts will provide more than 80 performances throughout the event.
Entry to the Luminarium is £2.50 for adults and £2 for concessions, while a family ticket is priced £7 for two adults and two children.
It will be open today from 1-6pm until Friday, then from 11.30am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. An adult must accompany children under 16.
