CORSHAM Court will be the setting for an outdoor performance of the restoration comedy The Provoked Wife on July 30.
The play, by Sir John Vanbrugh, will be performed by the Rain or Shine Theatre Company, raising funds for the Children's Society.
The play begins at 7.30pm but the audience is welcome to turn up from 6.30pm with a picnic.
The Provoked Wife concerns the fortunes of Sir John Brute and his wife Lady Brute. The couple despise each other, and Lady Brute loves Constant but refuses to consummate their relationship.
Meanwhile Belinda desires Heartfree, who love nobody, and Lady Fancyfull only loves herself.
Madamoiselle has eyes for Razor but where do his loyalties lie?
Tickets cost £10 for adults or £5 for children and are available from Design and Craft in Corsham High Street.
Theatre-goers should take along their own seating.
