Ref.10243THE Whole Hog in Malmesbury has been voted the top real ale pub in North Wiltshire by the Campaign for Real Ale, the ale appreciation society.
CAMRA members visited pubs across the region checking how picturesque they looked and the quality of their ale. The winner will make the regional final against top pubs in Gloucestershire and Somerset and then onto a South West final.
Landlord Michael Kemp said he was very pleased with the result and believed it was down to his wide selection of real ales. "They are always changing and they are in good condition. I look after them well," said Mr Kemp. "CAMRA came for Christmas lunch here and had a good time so that may have swayed them."
The pub has three house ales and two guest ales, which are Youngs Special and Normans Dark and Delicious this week.
