OPENING batsman Mark Hunt scored an unbeaten century to take Chippenham to a 16 run win in Stroud and Swindon Premier League Division Two on Saturday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Chippenham lost two early wickets, with Ian Merryweather and Joe Breet both out by the time the score had reached 18, but Hunt found a willing ally in Richard Bates and together they added 117 for the third wicket.
Bates made 67 off 84 balls and hit 13 fours. Hunt went on to make 104 not out as Chippenham reached 228 for five in their 50 overs.
Hunt batted for more than two and threequarter hours and he hit 14 fours and a six.
Paul Bates made an immediate breakthrough in the Knowle reply and then spin twins Richard Bates and Jason Searle then took over, claiming eight wickets between them as Knowle collapsed to 212 all out in the 42nd over.
