WILTSHIRE teenagers will be taking part in all sorts of exciting activities as part of this year's Summer Challenge.
The Summer Challenge events are intended to help guide young people who leave school at 16, by involving them in a series of challenging activities.
As well as teaching new skills, Summer Challenge also offers careers advice to those taking part.
The scheme is open to all young people in the county who have no firm plans for their future when they leave school.
The organisers hope they can help young people make the right choices for their life ahead.
This year events include making a music video at the Interactive Media Centre in Corsham from August 6 to August 8.
Alternatively, they can learn about music technology and how to break into the music business at Bradford on Avon youth development centre. Dates have yet to be confirmed.
Wiltshire County Council youth officer Ian Duckett said: "This annual scheme gives young people a wonderful opportunity to enjoy exciting, yet practical activities during the summer.
"By offering careers advice at the same time, the scheme will also help to ensure that young people are able to make informed choices after the age of 16."
Summer Challenge is a partnership between Wiltshire County Council's youth service, Swindon Borough Council, Lifetime Careers and the Trident Trust, an organisation that arranges work experience placements for young people.
Those taking part have been nominated by a number of different organisations, including schools, youth offending teams and social services.
