CALNE-based White Horse Juniors Football Club held their third annual summer six-a-side competition last weekend and hailed it as the best yet.
Around 800 players from nearly 100 teams from Wiltshire, Thamesdown and Bristol gathered at John Bentley School for two days of sun-drenched football.
Organiser Gary Haskins said the tournament had gone from strength to strength since it had been conceived and added that this year was no exception.
"We are a small family club and this was a real success for us," he said. "It was a fantastic weekend as far as the football and weather was concerned.
"I think all the players, supporters and volunteers had a really good time."
Around 35 teams entered the under-7s and under 8s festival of football and Haskins said it was the friendly nature of the tournament that helped make it so well supported.
"It was really good to have so many teams in the youngest age groups," he added.
"One reason why our tournament is popular is because we hold a plate competition for the sides knocked-out early on. If teams have to leave once they lose in the main cup they don't enjoy it as much.
"But here teams take the plate competition just as seriously as the main tournament."
He added that White Horse Juniors are still in need of new players in all age groups for the coming season.
