VOLUNTEER Steve Cole has been helping to repair a workshop used by orphaned teenagers in Romania.
Mr Cole, 48, of Worton, went out to Romania with local carpenter Nick Egginton along with five other volunteers to work for the Maramures Young Persons' Trust.
This is the third year Mr Cole has been out to Baiamare in Romania to work on the workshop. He helped to put on a new roof and build a fence as well as other improvements.
"It was great to go back and help out again. We were laying concrete in 40 degree heat and working a long day," said Mr Cole.
Orphans use the workshop to make furniture such as beds, cupboards and chests of drawers.
Mr Cole, a leading firefighter based at Salisbury, also took over donated tools such as planers, sanders and drills, most of which were given by kitchen manufacturer Alan Swaffer.
