CALNE'S Heritage Centre Trust has received a grant for £18,000, but still needs more cash to help fund its ambitious plans in the town.
The group was delighted when Calne's Area Five Committee agreed to roll over money granted to the trust last year.
This will be used by the trust for the refurbishment of its new base in the Carnegie Library this year.
But the group needs more cash if it is to complete the extensive refurbishment and interior displays needed at the centre. It also hopes to include a state of the art IT system.
Trust chairman Tony Trotman, said: "We're looking to industry in the town to see if it can support us as well as applying for small lottery and heritage grants.
"We are also appealing to the public. The tax payers have already given money towards the building, but 1,800 residents supported our bid to get the building and we hope some of those may consider giving a little more so the project can be completed."
