Ref.10229YOUNGSTERS at Southbroom Junior School, Devizes, proved they are top of the class when it comes to solving maths problems.
A team of six pupils from the school won the inaugural junior schools Olympics maths competition.
They competed against two teams from Rowde and one team from St Joseph's primary schools.
The competition was organised by Devizes School's head of maths Carolyn Kerr.
Mrs Kerr said: "The tests were aimed at making mental arithmetic fun and to help future pupils of the school so that when they move to Devizes School they don't find it daunting."
Mrs Kerr invited all the feeder schools to send teams. She said Devizes School sends teams to compete in similar events with other secondary schools and thought primary schools would enjoy it.
