Ref.10172A PROFIT of about £2,000 is expected when the accounts are finalised for the Wootton Rivers village and church combined fete held on Saturday.
The combined event was new, but the village has held a fete before.
Patricia Unwin, one of the organisers, said it was possible that following the success, the combined fete could become an annual event.
Held in the grounds of Wootton House by permission of Pam Antrobus, it was a traditional village fete in every sense of the word.
There were stalls and sideshows, a bar and a bouncy castle.
Music was provided by the Kennet Vale Band.
Mrs Unwin said the final amount raised had not yet been finalised but it was expected to be about £2,000, which will be shared between St Andrew's Church and to support village activities .
On the August bank holiday Sunday and Monday villagers will again be fundraising.
They will be organising teas for tourists in the village hall. All proceeds will go towards hall funds.
