PEACE campaigners from Swindon will be joining up to 10,000 trade unionists on Sunday at a festival in Dorset to celebrate the memory of the Tolpuddle Martyrs.
The annual festival is being organised by the TUC to commemorate how agricultural workers who formed an early trade union were arrested and deported to Australia.
The Swindon Stop the War Coalition banner will be paraded through Tolpuddle High Street along with hundreds of banners from trade unions and campaigning organisations from around the UK.
Two coaches will carry people from Swindon to the event one organised by the Co-op and the other by the GMB union.
Secretary of Swindon Stop the War Coalition, Andy Newman, said: "The Stop the War coalition is a broad based organisation and Trade unions have a very important role to play."
The coach organised by the GMB leaves Swindon bus station at 9.30am on Sunday.
