WE would like to thank the Gazette & Herald for the publicity we received over the recent weeks for the 1963-64 Southbroom Secondary Modern School reunion.
Over 560 attended coming from as far as Norway, Cornwall, Isle of Wight, Wales, Hampshire, Suffolk, Gloucester, Devon and of course Devizes and the surrounding villages, of which many heard about the reunion through the local press and word of mouth.
Viewing old school photos brought along by most attending and reviving many old friendships was the overwhelming factor of the evening with a glass being raised to absent friends.
It is hoped that many will keep in touch with each other now links have been re-established.
We also would like to thank through your media, Angie and Brian at the Conservative Club providing the buffet, also the generosity of the local traders who provided raffle prizes through the gentle persuasion of Julie Paget.
A final amount of £150 has also been realised from the raffle and ticket money and is being sent to Air Ambulance.
MARGARET STANLEY (BROOKS), LIZ SMITH (HOLCOMBE), CHRIS MILES (KING), SANDRA STANNARD (TARRENT).
