Late-night drinkers in Westbury are turning life into a living hell, according to nearby residents.
Emma Wills says she and her seven-month-old daughter are woken up every weekend by fighting, noise and vandalism on her doorstep.
She has lived opposite the Ludlow Arms, in Doggetts Lane, for seven years but says the past year has been the worst.
Ten months ago The Ludlow Arms successfully won an appeal against the district council and gained a licence to stay open until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights.
Now angry members of the Westbury Residents Association have demanded the town council call time on late-night drinking.
But Paul Morris, landlord of the Ludlow Arms for the past seven years, claims there is less trouble since the pub secured the late licence and the only problem is that is has become a victim of its own success.
He said: "There is a demand for us to stay open, people are voting with their feet.
"Before we got a late licence over 300 people were thrown out onto the streets at the same time every weekend and that was mayhem.
"Now there is far less trouble and it is only a minority of people who are complaining."
But Mrs Wills, 30, who is one of over 80 members of the residents association, said: "Every weekend between 1.30 and 3.30am my daughter is woken up by people fighting, being sick, vandalising and screaming.
"I'm not afraid for myself it's my daughter who is suffering. It's a sleepy residential part of Westbury and I was planning to bring up a family here but I can't its unacceptable."
She also believes the troubles have got worse since the Ludlow Arms was given a late licence.
She said: "It has definitely got worse over the last 10 months."
One Friday night six months ago she claimed it was 'like a riot' and when she woke up the following morning there were pools of blood outside her door.
On another occasion, in the early hours of the morning, she said she heard a woman getting a savage beating by her boyfriend.
Then just weeks ago a drunken man was bashing on the door to her family home on two separate occasions between 2am and 4am keeping her family awake.
She said: "Ever since that pub was given a late licence you can guarantee every weekend there will be trouble, it's a living hell.
"Just look at the houses round here, they're all up for sale, everyone is sick and tired of it."
The Westbury Residents Association is demanding that all pubs in the Market Place close at midnight on Friday and Saturday nights and no later than 11pm on weekdays.
Currently the Ludlow Arms is the only pub in the Market Place with a late licence and closes at 2am at the weekend.
Last Monday, Westbury Town Council gave its support to the residents association and recommended earlier closing times.
A working committee will be set up next week made up of councillors, pub landlords and residents, to discuss the crisis.
