STAFF and pupils at a west Wiltshire school are celebrating after receiving a glowing Ofsted report.
An inspection team found standards at Shaw Primary School had improved over the last year.
Key strengths included good teaching methods, hard working and well-behaved pupils and the use of an exciting and stimulating curriculum.
High performances in subjects such as design technology, art and geography and the school's good relationship with its governors were also singled out.
Headteacher Dave Borrie, who was praised for his leadership qualities, said: "The school has made huge progress over the last year. To receive a report from Ofsted of this calibre takes a huge amount of hard work, overtime and energy.
"I would like to thank wholeheartedly the wonderful team that runs this school and their enthusiasm, determination and joyousness."
Although standards at the school are good, inspectors found some pupils of high ability lacked challenging work and children's knowledge and understanding of the diversity of the wider community needed to be improved.
