Debuting alongside the X3 at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, the new BMW 645Ci Coup promises power and performance within a breathtaking design.
This is the first BMW Coup to wear the legendary 6 Series badge since 1989.
Though it carries the heritage of its predecessor, the new model moves the BMW 6 Series on a generation, offering a mouth-watering combination of:
4.4-litre V8 power unit with VALVETRONIC
Choice of three different six-speed transmissions, including SMG gearbox
Intelligent use of lightweight materials
Class-leading specification and ground-breaking options
Fluent exterior lines are reflected in a sporty interior.
Core driving functions are located on or around the steering wheel while the iDrive controller, which accesses most of the vehicle's secondary and comfort functions, is within easy and convenient reach of driver and front seat passenger.
Owners can also specify a panorama roof option which is larger than a normal electric sunroof, adding light and clarity to its luxurious interior.
The new 6 Series boasts a range of state-of-the-art innovations as options which boost the appeal of an already impressive car including Active Cruise Control (ACC) which keeps the car at pre-selected speed but monitoring traffic ahead to ensure a programmed distance is maintained, and Head-Up Display, which includes a navigation system and adaptive headlights which swivel up to 15, enabling the driver to 'see' around corners.
The model features the largest luggage compartment in its class, with enough space for two golf bags and a suitcase. Automatic air conditioning and a top-of-the-range hi-fi audio system come as
standard.
Available from December, the BMW 645Ci will be supplemented by a convertible model in 2004.
