Ref. 25734-5SWINDON CARES: EVENING Advertiser staff went back to school for a day in support of Swindon Cares week.
People across all departments at the Newsquest offices in Victoria Road took part in a range of activities.
These included a fancy- dress competition, raffles, a lucky dip, an e-bingo contest, an anagram competition and a sweepstake to guess how may runs the Advertiser team would make in a cricket match.
The Advertiser has raised more than £800. Leonie Ewin, features manager in the advertising department said: "When we heard about Swindon Cares week we just thought about a way of raising money that would be fun as well."
Swindon Cares' week ends tomorrow and the scheme is on target to raise £10,000 for three local charities the NSPCC, Age concern and the Swindon Cancer Appeal for Macmillan nurses.
A total of £5,600 has been raised so far. The effort is supported by Nationwide, Zurich, the Evening Advertiser, GWR Community Trust, the Rotary Club of Swindon, Swindon Council, the Swindon Chamber of Commerce and BBC Radio Swindon.
