THE throwing of six pet hamsters into the River Avon at Chippenham has been condemned as inexusable by the RSPCA.
Two youngsters raised the alarm at 4.45pm on July 9 after a man was seen hurling the pets into the water at Borough Parade.
An RSPCA inspector said: "Such behaviour is inexcusable and unacceptable." Anyone with information should contact the RSPCA's 24-hour cruelty and advice line on 08705 555 999.
