ON THE STREETS May 2002 - Central area Street Watch starts monitoring the activity of prostitutes and crime in the area around Broad Street.
January 2003 - Swindon Council is granted an injunction banning prostitute Eleanor Belcher, 22, from the centre of Swindon between 6pm and 6am daily.
Ms Belcher is jailed for three years and nine months after pleading guilty to robbing and attempting to rob a student.
Prostitute Leanne Goldsmith, 21, of Raleigh Avenue is jailed for 28 days after breaching the exclusion order 10 times and Hayley Cosgrove, 23, of no fixed abode, is jailed for two months after admitting 37 breaches of the ban.
May 2003 Prostitute Carina Matysiak, 23, of Park North, is jailed for two months after being caught breaching the order banning her from central Swindon.
July 2003 Street Watch co-ordinator Matt McCue reckons since the initiative has been in operation the number of prostitutes operating in central Swindon has dropped from 23 to five women each night.
