Cirencester Town built on their 2-0 win over a strong Bristol Rovers team last week with victory by the same scoreline against Hellenic League neighbours Cirencester United.
The Centurians introduced Russell Milton from Cheltenham Town and he orchestrated most of the play from midfield.
And with the experienced Gary Wotton organising the back line, the new season looks set to be a promising one.
It was Milton who instigated the Town's initial attacks and from one move he found Mike Davis whose cross was met by Gareth Hopkins but put wide.
With Town controlling most of the game, United goalkeeper Jason Huxtable pulled off a string of fine saves, including one from Hopkins and one that he tipped over from Davis.
Town seemed to step up the pace at the start of the second half and it took only five minutes for them to take the lead when Andy McCabe created space on the left and laid the ball to Davis to fire home.
United changed goalkeepers after the break with Mayy Keslake taking over the No 1 shirt and he made two great saves from Wotton and Hopkins.
Midway through the half Town made it 2-0 from a free kick.
Milton who is expected to sign this week curled the dead ball into the top corner.
Town had United under pressure for the remainder of the game but the underdogs held firm.
