Ref. 25772-22ARCHAEOLOGICAL gems unearthed during the recent excavations at Groundwell Ridge went on public display at the weekend.
Residents had the chance to see a selection of relics including prehistoric flints, Roman roof tiles, mosaic cubes and coins.
A gazebo was erected near the excavation site for two days.
Pete Wilson, of English Heritage, who has been leading the four week dig at the site, said: "The people of Swindon have shown great interest in the site.
"Besides showing them the relics, we have been showing them around the excavation trenches.
"We also invited local residents who were inconvenienced by the dig to come and have a look."
The archaeologists will be completing their excavation work on Wednesday.
Last month, Channel's Four Time Team visited the site as part of its Big Dig project the most ambitious archaeological search ever held in the UK.
