BIG victories dominated the latest round of matches in the Wiltshire Cricket League.
Leading the way were Heytesbury in Division Three, who trounced struggling Moredon Royal Oak by 258 runs.
A fine 156 not out from Will Dineen, including 100 of the first 122, with 13 sixes and six fours, supported by James Leighton 31 and a rapid 62 from Justin Wagstaff, who hit six sixes and three fours, helped Heytesbury to 287-3.
A shell-shocked Moredon were then shot out for 29 as Wagstaff took 4-12 in eight overs and Rob Barnes 5-16 in 8.4.
Two teams had comprehensive 10-wicket wins Nationwide House 2nd in Division Six, and Swindon 4th in Division Eight.
Division One
The meeting of the top two at Collingbourne resulted in a win for Calne which moved them back to the top.
Batting first Calne scored 200-5 thanks to Liann Botes' 55 and Chris Downham's 42. Downham then took 4-31 in 15 overs as, despite 43 from Ghyas Khan, Collingbourne were restricted to 157-9.
This defeat dropped Collingbourne to third as Biddestone, by virtue of their 52-run win at Purton, moved up to second spot.
Dwaine Perry's 87 helped Biddestone to 208-9 with Adam Alford taking 4-44 for Purton. Gordon Bedwell responded with 6-56 as Purton made 157-9 in reply.
At the foot of the table Potterne picked up valuable points at the expense of Beanacre.
Kevin Gover with 3-16 in 6.1 overs and Fred Kerley's 2-29 in 15 pegged Beanacre to 119 all out.
A fine 63 not out by Steve Fortune, helped by Phil Oliver (32), saw Potterne to a comfortable eight-wicket victory with overs to spare.
Nationwide House continue to find wins hard to come by as they lost at Bath Civil Service.
They were bowled out for 90 as John Fair took 3-17 in 13 overs, Paul Wood 3-41 in 15 and Dave Potter 3-10 in five.
Rob Read (29) and Mat Smith (22) then saw Civil Service to a four- wicket win, despite Mostyn Morris picking up 3-18 in 10 overs.
Division Two
Swindon Civil Service remained top as their match at home to Minety was forfeited by the visitors, who were unable to raise a side.
Buscot Park moved back to second place following their seven-wicket victory at lowly Highworth.
The home side batted well to total 203-9 with Chris Meade scoring 50. Hamish Millar's 89 led Buscot to their win with 15 balls to spare.
Urchfont went fourth as they defeated Cherhill by 49 runs. Mark Bateman (52 not out) top scored in their 211-8 and then Ian Burt took 5-41 in nine overs as Andy Mortimer scored a solid 63 in the Cherhill reply of 162 all out.
Division Three
Leaders Spye Park and Seagry both won and extended their advantage over third-placed Wroughton Wranglers, who surprisingly lost at Swindon 3rd.
Thanks to Hendy Alleyne's invaluable 69, Wroughton scored 148-6 as Randy Roze took 5-33 in 15 overs.
Mark Evans replied with 4-36 in 14 overs, but with Nick Parkinson scoring 41 not out, Swindon got home by one wicket.
Spye Park entertained Blunsdon and in a high-scoring encounter won by four wickets. Kevin Aubrey (83) and Rob Harrison (50 not out) helped Blunsdon to 236-6, Harrison taking 28 off the last over.
When Spye batted, John Bathe's 87, supported by Andy Beal (50) and Rich Bowater (33 not out) saw them to victory with an over to spare. Nick Lancaster bowled well for Blunsdon to finish with 4-78 in 15 overs.
Seagry visited improving Wanborough and were bowled out for 129 with Andy Thompson taking 3-13. Will Tidmarsh then took 3-26 in 15 overs, and despite Tom Clinning's 35, Wanborough were bowled out for 89.
Division Four
Lambourn visited Warminster 3rd and scored 213-9 before bowling their hosts out for 113 to win comfortably.
Avebury also travelled to bottom-placed Mildenhall and raced to 262-5 thanks to Dominic Fry's 135 and Rob Gater's 65.
Gater followed with 4-37 in 15 overs as only Vernon Staplin's 49 offered much resistance as Mildenhall were bowled out for 81.
Surprise of the day occurred at Corsham where the home side's 3rds entertained struggling Westbury 3rds.
Corsham looked well on their way as they posted 226-5 thanks to Simon Hudson-Wall's 113 and Peter Greenwood's 69.
Westbury's batsmen made a positive reply and thanks to a fine 68 not out from Geoff Edwards, helped in an unbroken fourth wicket stand by Phil Mead (41 not out), Westbury won by seven wickets as Edwards hit the winning runs from the last ball of the game.
Division Five
second-placed Litten Tree bowled visitors Lavington out for 73 as Julian Brown took 5-10 in 11.1 overs and Martin Sanson 2-23 in nine.
Kevin Crook (25 not out) and Colin Blake (28 not out) then knocked the runs off in 15 overs for the loss of one wicket.
Buscot Park 2nd ended their losing run as they moved back to third place following a 41-run home success against Burbage & ER 2nd. Andy Moreby (32), Colin Pratt (31) and Neil Phillips (54) enabled Buscot to make 186-8.
Paul Swatton then hit a crisp 64 and Bob Cady 37, but it was Buscot's all- round bowling which swung the game as James Phillips (3-31), Willy Townsend (3-29) and Glen Townsend (3-46) bowled out Burbage for 145.
Purton 2nd visited Chippenham 3rd and came away winners by seven wickets.
Chippenham found runs difficult to get, but thanks to Ray Bullen (41), George Sykes (30) and John Collins (27 not out) managed to get 137-5 as John Dunn took 3-32 in 13 overs. Andy Distan (62) and Adam Miles (29) then took Purton to victory.
Another low-scoring game saw United Churches' improved form continue. They were bowled out for 131 at Nettleton with Andy Foster top scoring with 29. For Nettleton Andy Couzens took 3-45 in 10.4 overs and Ian Sandell 3-27 in 10.
In response Dave Bamford took 4-27 in 15, Neil Laing 3-20 in 12, and Adam Foster 3-13 in 11.1 overs saw Nettleton bowled out for 68 in the 39th over.
Division Six
Nationwide House 2nd took over at the top following their comprehensive drubbing of visiting Trowbridge A.
Andy Lewis with 7-17 in 8.1 overs and Nigel Stone (3-19 in eight) bowled Trowbridge out for 36, and led by Darren Miles' 28 not out he home side sped to a 10-wicket win.
Bottom of the table Cooper-Avon Tyres 2nd gave visitors Goatacre 3rd a run for their money before going down by three wickets.
With Nathan Mantle (54) and Aravindon (60), Cooper-Avon ended with 179 all out. Pick of the Goatacre bowlers was Andy Staravloski, with 4-49 in 15 overs.
Aravindon followed up with 4-40 in 15 overs, but thanks to Richard Grigg's 56, Goatacre won in the 42nd over.
Wootton Bassett 3rds' slide continued as they lost by 80 runs at Calne 2nd. For the home side Tom Knight top scored with 48 in their 153-9 as Barry Thurtell took 4-31 in 13 overs and Garry Anslow 4-53 in 15.
Bassett's batting then collapsed to 73 all out. Chris Eades took 8-10 in 13.2 overs to record a league best for Calne.
Division Seven
United Churches 2nd are still looking for their first win as they lost at home to Dauntsey Gentlemen 2nd.
A fine 100 by Gordon Mitchell helped Dauntsey to 213-4, before Neil Thomas (3-7 in 8.5 overs) helped them bowl their hosts out for 98.
The local derby at Beanacre saw the home side's 2nds defeat visiting Potterne 2nd by 17 runs.
Ray Peacock (44), Dave Gilbert (36) and Clive Bailey (37) helped Beanacre to 187 all out. Tim Rutty then took 5-66 in 15 overs and Trevor Braine 3-54 in 15 as, despite Brendan Baker's 69, Potterne were bowled out for 170 in the 40th over.
Division Eight
Collingbourne 2nd took over from Corsham 4th at the top as they collected more bonus points from their match.
Corsham 2nd shot hosts Biddestone 3rd out for 60, with Nevill Dennett taking 6-15 and Martin Hick 3-12.
They then struggled as George Harper took 3-27 and Chris Jones 4-20, but finally crept home by two wickets.
Highworth 2nd gained a welcome win at the expense of hosts Bathford 2nd. Highworth scored 165-6 thanks to Nick Parker's 53 and Andy Perkins' 40. Geoff Halls then took 5-40 and Andy Simmons 3-25 as they restricted the Bathford response to 145-9.
Chippenham 4th visited Blunsdon 2nd and scored 173-8 thanks to Mike Adams (56) and Alan Dyer (25). For Blunsdon Nick Walker took 3-37 in 15 overs.
Phil Triner (4-39 in 12) and Neil Adams (3-32 in 10 overs) then helped bowl Blunsdon out for 151, Paul Usher scoring 32 and Mike Castle 23.
Devizes 4th crashed to yet another big defeat, going down by 10 wickets at home to Swindon 4th.
Steve Cole with 6-16 in seven overs was mainly responsible for bowling them out for 36. Wayne Steptoe's 30 not out led the victory dash.
