A WEEK dedicated to the county's ancient treasures is due to start on Sunday.
Wiltshire Archaeology Festival 2003 is designed to provide a free, informal and interesting introduction to our history and culture.
Leading archaeologists will lecture and guide tours at various venues in the county.
All activities are free, except for tours around Stonehenge, which cost £10.
Phil Harding, of Channel 4's Time Team, who is to open this year's festival, praised the voluntary work that has gone into its organisation.
He said: " I'll back any venture that will make it more accessible to a lot more ordinary people."
