FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle this blaze at a barn in Ogbourne St George.
The barn, containing about 400 tonnes of hay, straw and animal feed, was well alight by the time the fire brigade arrived at Lower Herdswick Farm.
Appliances from Swindon, Marlborough and Stratton were joined by a water carrier based at Ramsbury.
After putting out the initial fire, members of the brigade stayed behind at the scene to continue to damp down the smouldering remains and ensure that the area was safe.
A spokesman for the Wiltshire Fire Service said: "Although the fire was out, it was still smouldering. We maintained a presence at the barn just to make sure that it was fully out and was safe."
The fire began at 4pm on Saturday and the last fire officers left the scene at 5pm the following day.
Fire investigators are set to examine the barn to try to establish a cause for the fire.
There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the incident.
