Cirencester got an extreme reality check when going down to a heavy nine-wicket defeat at the hands of table-topping Rockhampton in Gloucestershire County Division One.
The home side were inserted by the leaders on a dampish track and they suffered an immediate setback as they lost opener Andy Walker to the first ball of the innings.
Walker was then quickly followed back to the pavillion by Andy Reynolds and then Rodriges, who was rather wastefully run out.
With the score on 14-3, Richard Graham then joined skipper Dominic Jeffcott. Graham, though, went for 11, leaving Andy Cooper to produce the one real innings of command and substance, hitting five fours and two sixes in his 45. Jeffcott eventually went for 20 as Ciren folded at 117.
For Rockhampton, opening bowler Williams took three wickets and change bowler Jones collected 6-22.
In reply, Rockhampton's extremely strong batting line up had little difficulty knocking off the runs in just over 30 overs for the lost of just one wicket.
Hopkins was run out by Reynolds, but Gloucestershire Under 19 squad member Tyler scored an elegant 52 not out , as did Hore.
For Cirencester, left-arm spinner John Turton bowled 12-over spell for just 24 runs.
