THE Salisbury District Netball League's annual mixed netball tournament takes place on Saturday promising to be bigger than ever.
More than 18 teams, some entered from as far away as Birmingham, will descend on the Westwood Netball Centre for the annual event.
In a bid to dispel netball's image as a ladies' game, each team must have a minimum of two men on court.
Many of them are also members of rugby, basketball and football clubs.
Event organiser Tasha King, said: "It's a great day when all the local teams come out to enjoy the competition."
Sandra O'Connell, the league treasurer who also plays for the mixed league-winning DB's team, added: "Playing in a mixed team can really improve your game."
The event starts at 10am with the final game expected to be played at around 3.30pm.
Later that evening, the winners of the winter, summer and mixed league competitions will receive their trophies at the Afon bar and restaurant.
