This is the message from Swindon Police to these two women clubbers who may have information about an incident at the Brunel Rooms which has left a 23-year-old man fighting for his life in hospital with head injuries.
A MAN is fighting for his life after falling down the stairs at the Brunel Rooms nightclub.
The 23-year-old man from Swindon suffered severe head injuries and is in a coma at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Police are trying to identify these two women seen fighting with the man in the club, in the Brunel Shopping Centre, before he fell at around 2.15am on Sunday. The images are taken from CCTV cameras in the club, which captured the attack.
Detective Constable Charlie Clifford said: "This is a very serious incident. The victim hasn't woken up and his condition is life-threatening. We urge anyone with information to come forward."
The man was involved in an argument with the women outside the auditorium on the first floor of the club, which apparenlty resulted in them kicking and punching him.
A doorman intervened and asked both parties to leave. The women, who are regulars at the club, left but the man resisted being thrown out.
As the two men struggled, they both fell down a flight of stairs. The 23-year-old landed on top of the doorman and smashed his head against the wall, leaving him unconscious.
Staff at the nightclub called for an ambulance, which arrived on the scene within a few minutes.
He was taken to Great Western Hospital and subsequently transferred to the John Radcliffe.
The doorman escaped serious injury but is still in shock.
DC Clifford said: "This is a very distressing time for the victim's family and we are anxious to find out exactly what happened.
"We are keeping an open mind."
Police officers also arrived at the club and conducted interviews with witnesses.
The two women returned to the club five minutes after the fall, asking to retrieve their mobile phones. The request was refused and no mobile phones were subsequently found.
Stephen Reid, managing director of the Brunel Rooms, was at the club when the incident took place.
He said: "This is a tragic accident and our thoughts are with all those concerned."
Anyone who recognises the women or can provide any other information should call Swindon Police on (01793) 528111.
