BOOKMAKER Skybet has installed Chippenham as 16/1 shots for the Dr Marten's Premier Division title this season.
The Bluebirds' first opponents Nuneaton Borough are 15/8 favourites, ahead of Steve Claridge's 7/1 shots Weymouth and 8/1 duo Dover and Tiverton.
Among the rank outsiders are Bath and Weston Super Mare who are priced at 50/1 and 66/1 respectively.
Based on their top five finish last season, Saunders felt Chippenham are worthy of their 16/1 tag, but he is not reading too much into the bookmakers' opinions.
"I would have said the price is about right for us because we really should have finished second last season but let it slip in the final month," he said.
"But I don't agree with the odds for Bath and Western-super-Mare because they have far bigger budgets than we do. We don't really have a hope of winning the title this season and realistically I would just be happy if we get in the top 12."
