CHIPPENHAM have become the first winners of the Portman Building Society County under 15s Knockout cup.
Having defeated Westbury, Wootton Bassett and Marshfield in earlier rounds, Chippenham comprehensively defeated Swindon in the final.
Swindon batted first and raced to 47 in the seventh over, with Dominic O'Neil (31) and Mark Williamson (16) scoring well.
The introduction of the spinners saw a complete transformation as Swindon subsided to 71 all out. Liam Dawson (4-4), Will Couzens (2-13) and Tom Bowler (2-15) all bowled well, supported by five stumpings from stand-in wicketkeeper Luke Holborough.
Chippenham raced to victory inside 13 overs with Adam Croutear scoring 32, ably supported by Tim Rowson (16 not out) and Tom Bowler (13 not out.)
Chippenham will now meet Bath, the winners of the Somerset final in a play-off to see who attends the regional finals.
