THE owner of Devizes Football Club ground says it was not consulted by club chairman Chris Belcher over a plan to sell the site .
Linpac, which bought the ground from the club in the 1990s, confirmed Wednesday that it has not been approached about any possible sale.
General manager Steve Hinton said: "We have had no official approach from Mr Belcher and it would be impossible for the ground to be sold without us giving the go-ahead."
The football club has been suspended by Wiltshire Football Association until August 11 amid claims that the way the limited company was set up by Mr Belcher was illegal.
Mr Belcher has until August 4 to file papers that explain in detail the process.
He will then face a meeting a week later that will decide the club's future.
A number of club stalwarts are hoping to take over the running of club if the FA rules against Mr Belcher. This week they said they were encouraged by the support they have received from people in the town.
