GIRLS from the 1st Stratton Rainbows raised almost £300 for a children's cancer charity.
The 18 girls, aged from five to seven, were today enjoying a family picnic on the vicarage lawn in Beechcroft Road, to celebrate their achievement.
The children visited 26 places around Stratton as part of a challenge for national charity Children With Leukaemia.
Their stops included singing at the Espringham House nursing home, taking part in story time at the library and visiting Simm's Chip Shop in Beechcroft Road.
The total sponsorship raised was £284.
