A GROUP of former Airsprung bosses have set up a new mattresses company.
Moonraker Beds have opened a new factory in Westbury and aim to manufacture 1,000 mattresses a week.
All three directors left Airsprung earlier this year after spending their whole careers with the Trowbridge based bedding giants.
Co-director Andy Lewis worked at Airsprung for 20 years.
He said: "Our experience within the bedding market in the UK and abroad has enabled us to evaluate closely the needs of both retailer and the consumer.
"Beds are a very important part of everybody's life and hopefully we can, with the aid of our stockists, help in the education of consumers to be more aware of the value they attribute to their beds."
Production at Moonraker Beds is already under way and the company hopes to supply mattresses throughout the south west.
Once the production line is fully completed bosses hope to manufacture 1,000 mattresses a week.
The bed firm on West Wilts Trading Estate will also make divan sections for the base of beds.
The official opening of the factory will take place on August 6.
