A pensioner accused of a series of sex attacks on a young girl has been cleared after the Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence on the case.
Arthur White, of Park Street, Trowbridge, had been charged with three counts of indecent assault on a girl between 1995 and 1999.
The 68-year-old pleaded not guilty to the three allegations and after hearing that the Crown did not intend to proceed to trial Judge Tom Longbotham recorded not guilty verdicts.
Kerry Barker, prosecuting, told the court that the female victim was unwilling to attend court so the case was dropped.
