SWINDON Town legend Fraser Digby has officially opened a new all-weather sports ground.
The former STFC goalkeeper carried out the ceremony at Earl Danby's School Association's annual barbecue and was helped out by six-year-old pupil Charlotte Stevens.
The facility is in the centre of the village and can be used for tennis, five-a-side football and netball and was provided in response to a village survey three years ago.
Earl Danby Primary will use it for 40 per cent of the time and for the remaining 60 per cent it will be available for the community.
The pitch cost £25,000, with £7,500 coming from North Wiltshire District Council and donations coming from the school association, Brinkworth Heritage Society, Brink Recreational Group. The balance was made up by money from the school's budget for building project.
