I trust that Swindon council is going to offer Mrs Simpson, of the farm at Barbury Castle, adequate compensation for the loss of her cafe business. She has built it up over many years and the council is now planning to take it away.
Also, who on earth is going to look after the toilets up there now (I recently saw a syringe on the castle mound). The area is getting very overgrown without the sheep and animals to graze it.
We need to keep the Simpsons at Barbury to continue running it the way it was. Or are we going to turn it into a gypsy site?
The area up there has always had free access so what was the council talking about?
If the council's John Short thinks he can improve nature he probably thinks he can walk on water as well.
He should leave Barbury Castle Farm to be run by countryfolk who know how to run it.
