WOOTTON Bassett Bowls Club celebrated their 75th anniversary with a special game against English Bowling Association president Arthur Hockley's touring side.
On an overcast afternoon they were beaten 129-109.
Bassett took the honours on two of the six rinks with the quartet of Adam Marshall, Anthony Drury (WB president), Barry Wheeler and Ken Roe recording the biggest win with a nine-shot success over Hockley's foursome.
