CRICKLADE Bowls Club, pictured left, celebrated their 75th anniversary with an Open Day at their premises on Bath Road.
They opted for a low key celebration rather than stage a posh affair where clubs invite hierarchy from the county or national officials.
"It was very well supported," said Cricklade president Sue Baker.
"We are a small club so by holding a casual open day we hoped to attract some new members and six showed a very definite interest.
"And three of the town councillors were in attendance.
"We held several activites such as target bowls and rounded-off the day with a barbecue
"It was an enjoyable day apart from the weather.
