KEMPSFORD: A company director accused of attempting to murder his wife at their Cotswolds home was remanded in custody by Cheltenham magistrates yesterday.
Joseph Temple, 62, of Firs House, Kempsford, near Fairford, is alleged to have attacked his 53-year-old Italian-born wife Maristella with a kitchen knife as she lay in bed on Saturday.
The magistrates committed Temple to appear before Bristol Crown Court next Tuesday. After the incident, Mrs Temple was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon where she underwent surgery on a gash to her throat.
