FOUR-YEAR-OLD Gordon Elliott gets to grips with his home-made kite at Wroughton Science Museum's Catching the Wind event.
General manager Steph Gillett hoped to encourage people to think more about the various uses of the wind as a renewable energy source.
He said: "The wind has many different uses. We wanted to illustrate this and thought what better way to do this than through flying a kite.
Gordon, from near Chippenham, bought his kite kit from the museum, which is based on the former World War II airfield. He said: "I like kites because they go really high and you can do tricks with them."
Peter Dawson, 50, from Shellingford, certainly knows all about that.
The member of STACK or the Sport Team and Competition Kiting performed a thrilling display for the crowds.
"There are so many different aspects to kite flying that people do not know what it is all about. This gives them a really good insight while having fun at the same time," he said.
