SO Swindon's new Great Western Hospital has received two stars from the Commission for Health Improvement (Adver July 16).
It also was placed in the top ten per cent for the whole country in another report produced the previous week. Did I read this in the hospital's usual bad news slot on the front page of your paper? No, it was tucked away underneath a story about zero rating for the under funded ambulance service on page two.
The fact that the hospital still managed to achieve both of the above ratings even in the year it moved from one site to another was a magnificent achievement by all the staff who worked there, of which my wife is a dedicated member.
Also at the footnote to your piece you ask people who have experienced delays from the ambulance service to write in. slightly one sided don't you think?
What about people who have benefited from the quick response of our super paramedic service or a story about our hard working front line ambulancemen and women?
Come on Adver don't stoop to tabloid standards, let's give credit where credit is due and let's have the reporting in your paper a bit more balanced and celebrate a local hospital which looks to be going from strength to strength and of which local people can be proud.
