YOUNGSTERS from across the borough pushed their prams, bikes and toy cars to raise money for Childline the children's helpline.
Around 40 children aged between one and eight spent a morning walking around the playground of the Drove Centre in Southampton Street for the fund-raising drive and early indications are that their efforts have raised more than £100.
Emily Woollatt, chairman of the Phoenix Library, a toy lending library which organised the event, said: "I'd like to say a great big thank you to everyone that took part. It looks as if we've raised more than £100 thanks to the efforts of all the young children and those who helped on the day."
Television presenter Esther Rantzen set up Childline as a free and confidential number for children to ring if they were suffering from abuse or bullying.
Childline can be contacted on 0800 1111.
