RIVERSIDE Tennis Club members are jubilant at the club's award of a grant of £4,837 from the National Lottery's Awards for All programme.
The money will help the club establish a comprehensive, affordable tennis programme for the local community, and hopefully attract many new people to the game.
It will also fund the retainer for new head coach Karina Weedon, DCA LTA licensed, and equipment including mini tennis kit, a ball machine, ball basket and speed gun.
Courses for juniors, beginners and improvers are planned with squad coaching for seniors.
Steve Archer, Riverside's development co-ordinator said: "This award means so much. Setting up a good coaching programme is a vital part of our development.
Future plans include an additional court, more floodlights and a new clubhouse - and in the next couple of years, more tennis for everyone."
