A QUARTET of Alderbury bowlers have booked their place in the National Championships after recording a convincing win in the semi-finals of the County Fours Championship.
Gerry Woolley, Allan Wilson, Pete Frost and John Webb beat the Malmesbury four by 24 points to 14 earn the right to represent Wiltshire at Worthing, the national home of bowls.
But before they can compete for national glory, the quartet are slated to meet their fellow county finalists Miles Roberts, Mark Wadsworth, Chris Cheesley and Ray Sowden of Purton in Westlecot on Saturday.
Whoever the victor, both teams are guaranteed a place at Worthing on August 18.
Alderbury ladies also have the chance to bring home a national prize next month.
The trio of Sue Frost, Margaret Webber and Mary Austin will represent Wiltshire in the ladies national finals in Leamington on August 11.
