Wootton Bassett won the toss and elected to field on a drying pitch at Erlestoke.
Accurate opening bowling from Bassett's Tom Davies and Craig Kelly soon had Erlestoke in trouble at 25 for two in the seventh over before Toby Dorgan and Rory Davis came together and put on a partnership of 135 for the third wicket.
They batted together for 20 overs before Davis was out for 45. Toby Dorgan went on to a beautifully crafted century before being caught at deep mid wicket for 101. His century included 14 fours.
Erlestoke later declared their innings at 191 for four at the end of the 33rd over, leaving Wootton Basset to get 192 to win in 37 overs.
Wootton Bassett responded well to the challenge with an opening partnership of 50 between Tom Coates (23) and Sean Toomey (51). The Erlestoke fielding was impressive all afternoon and the pressure began to tell as Wootton Basset wickets began to fall steadily under good and accurate bowling from Larson Taylor (two for 13), Jos Tomlinson (one for 22) and Toby Mullins (one for 16).
At the start of the 37th and final over Wootton Bassett were 120 for eight, with Erlestoke needing two wickets to win the game and Wootton Bassett needing to survive the over for a draw.
Toby Dorgan bowled the last over and took a wicket with the first ball. The last Wootton batsman kept out the next four deliveries but was caught by a diving Jos Tomlinson at third slip off the very last ball of the game to give Toby Dorgan figures of three for nine and victory to Erlestoke by 71 runs.
(Erlestoke 22 points, Wootton Bassett 4 points).
The other two matches, Westbury v Purton and Cannings v Swindon, were victims of the weather.
