A MAN had to spend the night in hospital after being injured in an unprovoked assault.
The 30-year-old victim was sitting on railings behind the bus shelter at the bottom of Kingshill Road, opposite the service station, in the early hours of Sunday morning, when he was struck from behind. He fell to the ground and was continually assaulted. His attackers stole £75 from his wallet and ran off.
The victim had to be treated at Great Western Hospital for fractured ribs facial grazes and pain.
He was discharged on Tuesday but was unable to give a description of his attackers.
