The new North Wilts Youth League is urgently looking for referees to officiate this season.

Games will be played on both Sunday mornings and afternoons, with age groups from under 11 to under 16.

Kevin Stump, the referees appointment secretary, said: "We have 211 teams entered in the league, and it is very important that we get as many games as possible covered with a qualified referee.

"I would ask all those referees who have not refereed boys' football before to give it a go. I think they will be surprised at the standard of football and how competitive games can be."

The league are holding a meeting on Wednesday, August 6 at Ferndale School, Swindon, starting at 7.30pm, where referees are invited to attend and find out more about the league and what it has to offer, including an incentive scheme.
