A PENSIONER who lost his £17,000 life savings to bogus callers last year has fallen foul of thieves again.
This time the 76-year old retired gardener, who police are not naming, has had £400 stolen by burglars.
Police say the thieves smashed open the front door of his home in York Place, St Martin's, Marlborough, while he was out.
They searched his home and found £400 in two wallets.
WPC Tracy Mead said it was sickening that thieves had targeted the pensioner twice.
She said there was no way of knowing if it was the same thieves who got into his home a year ago by claiming they had to turn off his water.
WPC Mead said: "It could have been the same thieves who returned to see if he had any more cash or it could have been someone else.
"He is known to be a man of regular habit who always goes out and returns at the same time so it was easy for them to break in while was out."
The latest theft happened between 2pm and 4pm last Wednesday.
WPC Mead has appealed for anyone who was in the area and saw people acting suspiciously or clambering over a wall to get in touch with her at Marlborough police station on (01672) 512311.
