TONY Bradfield says he has never fallen out with his wife, Rose despite being married for 50 years tomorrow (Friday).
Tony, 79, of Shrivenham, first met Rose at a cricket match at Shrivenham recreation ground in 1951.
He said: "I was watching the cricket and she was walking a dog. We got talking and arranged to go for a walk. It went from there and we have yet to have a row."
After two years of going out together they tied the knot and enjoyed a white wedding in Bourton Church.
Their week-long honeymoon in Guilford may not sound exotic but the weather was sunny.
Tony said: "It was a wonderful holiday and we were lucky with the weather."
A later holiday which they took in Bournemouth ran less smoothly.
He said: "I got locked out of our flat. So I found a ladder and guessed which window it was. Unfortunately I said 'Can you let me in?' outside the wrong one and was given short shrift. Eventually I picked the right one. We laugh about it now."
After serving in the Army parachute regiment for five years, Tony worked as an assembler at Plesseys electronics in Swindon.
Rose, 72, was a home help and domestic servant. She thinks trust is the bedrock of a happy marriage.
She said: "We have always been honest and never really have arguments because we think so much of each other."
