What sort of people have we become? After not giving immediate humane treatment to the wounded children in Iraq and not being prepared to pay for special expensive new treatment for those of our fellow citizens who could be cured if we only made the money available, we can now add to the list.
We now read that a widow of 102 who was evicted from a care home where she had lived for 10 years and who sold her home to pay for her care but inconveniently lived too long for our bureaucratic, insensitive, selfish easy money making society, has died two weeks and three days after her eviction.
What a reward for a decent life led by a decent citizen! And we as a society have allowed it to happen in our name!
Surely there should be a life-time contract for the elderly, especially when a person has sold her home to pay for their care.
