Steve Kirby was the star of Yorkshire's attack against Gloucestershire as the hosts ended day two of the Frizzell County Championship Division Two match on 201-6.
The medium-pacer claimed two wickets in four balls to leave Gloucestershire struggling at 153-5.
They had begun the day in peril at 33-2 and after a morning rain delay Yorkshire broke through with the first ball after tea as Chris Silverwood ended a stand of 80 between Tim Hancock and Matt Windows as the former edged through to wicketkeeper Simon Guy for 35.
That loss was cushioned by a solid partnership between Windows and Alex Gidman.
They were settling down into a determined fourth-wicket stand when Kirby clean bowled Windows for 73.
